Knayton CofE Academy is a charming rural school situated in the picturesque village of Knayton, just 3 miles from Thirsk and 6 miles from Northallerton. The school can accommodate 150 pupils and is very privileged to be able to offer wrap-around-care from 7:30am – 6:00pm for children of ages 4 – 11.
Knayton CofE Academy provides pleasant and peaceful surroundings for children to learn. The school benefits from a large playing field where the children can enjoy a wide variety of outdoor sports such as football, hockey, rounders, cricket and athletics. In addition to this wide space, the school also has a large playground which has a wooden trail, creative and imaginative play areas, and marked space for sports. We are very pleased to be able to offer a wide range of Forest School activities linked to our woodland and nature reserve both during and after school.
Outdoor learning is a key part of school life at Knayton; our Early Years classes have full time access to a well equipped outdoor area, boasting an outdoor classroom, stage, sandpit, raised beds, climbing wall and key learning areas. We truly value the outdoor learning environment and we are working towards achieving Forest School status. This will enable all children to learn key skills and develop our school ethos of ‘Respect for ourselves, others and the environment’
We are a friendly, happy and inclusive school that provides a caring, stimulating and supportive environment in which all pupils and staff have the opportunity to develop to their full potential. We continually promote this ethos to ensure every child is made to feel happy and secure. We actively encourage positive social skills, self-respect and a caring attitude towards all others in the school and wider community. We strive to provide a wide range of learning opportunities for all children to help them grow into independent and responsible people.
